In Memoriam of Allan Rosenbaum

Cesar Rojas Alfonzo,

It is with great sorrow that we have to announce the very sad news that our distinguished U.S. colleague Professor Allan Rosenbaum passed away on March 17, 2024.

Professor Allan Rosenbaum was a distinguished scholar and professor of Public Policy and Administration at Florida International University (FIU), who achieved remarkable accomplishments and made substantial contributions to the field of public administration.

Allan Rosenbaum's significant and indispensable contributions to IIAS, IASIA, and our dialogues, particularly the Trans-Atlantic Dialogues between EGPA and ASPA, are of considerable importance.

Professor Allan Rosenbaum played key leadership roles within our community, serving as IASIA President twice (from 2001 to 2004 and 2007 to 2010) and also ASPA President twice (2014 to 2015 and 2021 to 2023). Additionally, he was a vital member of the IIAS Executive Committee and a Founding Member TAD (ASPA/EGPA). His contributions significantly impacted public administration globally.

Professor Allan Rosenbaum was not only a remarkable researcher and educator but also a cherished friend. We deeply valued our engaging discussions on PA and cherished the collaborative projects and partnerships we developed together.

His lifelong commitment and fruitful endeavors were distinguished by the fusion of his steadfast humanist convictions and unwavering dedication to community service.

The IIAS community recognizes his legacy and will pay tribute to our peer during our next Conference.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Professor Allan Rosenbaum's family, particularly to his dear wife Judy, as well as to his esteemed colleagues and friends at ASPA, FIU, and across the international community.
