TED 2024 Invites Scholars and Practitioners for Groundbreaking Dialogue on Digital Governance in the Age of AI

The Trans-European Dialogue (TED) is set to convene its 13th edition in the historic city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, on March 7-8, 2024. The event falls under the auspices of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), regional group of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), and The Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration of Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee). Hosted and organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies and the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik, TED 2024 promises to be a landmark event in the realm of public administration.

Under the overarching theme of "Digital Governance in the Age of AI: Evolving Policies, Regulations, and Practices," TED 2024 will provide a unique platform for senior public administration experts, encompassing both academics and high-level practitioners, to engage in a comprehensive dialogue.

  3. Dual Tracks: Participants can opt for either the academic track, where abstract proposals can pave the way for later publications, or the reflective track, designed for experienced researchers and practitioners, featuring brief proposals.

  4. Collaborative Atmosphere: TED 2024 emphasizes broad debate among all invited participants, encouraging discussions rooted in research-based insights and practical experiences.

Important Dates:

  • 12 February 2024 - Deadline for application with proposal (abstract in case of academic track with 500-750 words OR policy brief in case of reflective track with 150-300 words):

  • 16 February 2024 - Participants will be notified upon the selection results.
  • 22 February 2024 - Deadline for full paper proposal (in case of academic track).

The International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs (ICAPA) is pleased to announce the recent reaccreditation and accreditation of several prominent institutions. The American University in Cairo, the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas at the University of Lisbon (ULisboa ISCSP), and Fairleigh Dickinson University have all been tentatively approved for accreditation through an Action by Written Consent by the ICAPA Accreditation Committee (AC). Final endorsement of these accreditations will proceed through the Steering Committee as outlined by Regulation 8 in the coming days.

The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), the specialized entity of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), is pleased to officially welcome Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (UAE) in Morocco as a new Corporate Member. UAE’s membership strengthens IASIA’s commitment to advancing public administration education and research, further enhancing our mission to foster global standards of excellence in the field.

The 2024 AAPA-EROPA-AGPA-IAPA Joint Conference, an unprecedented gathering of Asia’s major public administration organizations—the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA), the Asian Group for Public Administration (AGPA), and the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA)—successfully concluded at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Themed “Towards World Class Bureaucracy,” the event marked a milestone in public administration, drawing over 600 participants, including a substantial international delegation.
