Public Governance Series

We are thrilled to announce the publication of the book "Diversity as Strategic Opportunity: Exploring New Paths to Good Administration," edited by Anna Simonati, from the Università degli Studi di Trento. This groundbreaking volume, a result of the EGPA Permanent Study Group XXIII on Administration, Diversity and Equal Treatment published by IAP, offers a comprehensive examination of how diversity can be leveraged as a strategic advantage in public administration.

The history of public service education and training have long been pivotal in shaping the governance and operations of governments worldwide. Editors Toon Kerkhoff (Leiden University, The Netherlands) and Denis Moschopoulos (the Ionian University of Corfu, Greece), along with a distinguished international team of contributors, have meticulously examined and chronicled this journey in the recently released book, "The Education and Training of Public Servants: Systems and Practices from the Nineteenth Century to the Present."

The latest addition to the Governance and Public Management series, titled Finnish Public Administration: Nordic Public Space and Agency, delves into the intricacies of public governance in Finland. Edited by Elias Pekkola, Jan-Erik Johanson, and Mikko Mykkänen, the book offers a comprehensive analysis of various aspects of Finnish public administration.

From shifting demographics and economic fluctuations to environmental concerns, technological advancements, and the global pandemic, the need for effective governance has never been more critical. Acknowledging these complexities, the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) announces the book “Good Governance in a Post-COVID-19 World – Global Health and Economic Recovery” prepared in partnership with the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA).

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) is pleased to announce that the book "Good Public Governance in a Global Pandemic," from the IIAS Public Governance Series, has been referenced as a valuable source in the latest World Public Sector Report, published by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).
