Public Governance Series

The 46th Annual Conference of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) took place from September 3 to 6, 2024, at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens. This year's conference attracted over 593 participants from 45 countries, who came together to engage in meaningful discussions under the theme: "Strengthening Democratic Governance for Better Public Policies and Services."


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam Lips at the end of August 2024.


The EGPA 2024 Conference, scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece, from September 3 to 6, 2024 is thrilled to announce some key highlights of the programme. This year’s theme, "Strengthening Democratic Governance for Better Public Policies and Services," will guide the discussions and sessions throughout the event.


We are thrilled to announce the publication of the book "Diversity as Strategic Opportunity: Exploring New Paths to Good Administration," edited by Anna Simonati, from the Università degli Studi di Trento. This groundbreaking volume, a result of the EGPA Permanent Study Group XXIII on Administration, Diversity and Equal Treatment published by IAP, offers a comprehensive examination of how diversity can be leveraged as a strategic advantage in public administration.


This year, we are celebrating 25 years of cooperation and dialogue on Public Administration Accreditation in Europe and we have invited Theo van der Krogt, former EAPAA secretary, and Geert Bouckaert, the first EAPAA chairman, to write some words about this remarkable journey and the significant milestones achieved along the way.
